TREM17 – Mark Tremolo – Four Small Stories – Cassette and Digital EP

Ahhhh December… A manic month that is somehow always overbooked and then you end on the sofa anyways cos all those the December colds flood through the front door. Here are four songs that feel like that moment:

You start on a weird high with a pummeling electronic beat with a hazy edge and then all of a sudden there’s an acoustic troubadour serenading you with broken yearnings. Then you have to get up and flip the tape (or maybe there’s a secretly well hidden track before that?). All of a sudden it’s an elegantly glitched (elegant means lots of delay and reverb) guitar line that starts to walk towards the ambient corners of the room, AND THEN there’s a broken folk vocal that’s chuffed cos they’ve just seen a living legend of synthesis ANNND THEEEEN it breaks down to a slightly careful folk chamber. Phew. Finally you’re greeted at the edge of a mountain with shimmery vocals, an ocarina and a wobbly guitar – but can you believe it – it doesn’t even sound like that. It sounds better than can be written. The swirling begins to walk the room, trying to find the energy to make it to the end of the month.

What a cool metaphor hey. This is tape for chin scratchers. You could put it on auto loop and just let it wash over you between xmas and new year, feeling the vibes. That’s a good idea actually – that’s totally what we’re gonna do in the Tremolo offices.

You can get it now from Bandcamp – have a listen and follow the link below. Thanks for watching xxxxxxx
