TREM20 – RAW UMBER – GOODNIGHT RUNNER – Cassette and Digital Release

Limited edition, 4 track guitar and synth, dark ambient cassette EP release. 

Raw Umber are a two piece from Clapton, London. MTG plays guitar and programs beats while MS plays modular synths and programs even more beats. 

This is the pair’s third group together, this time keeping it simple with a 2up approach. They have a gentle sound on this release – quiet humming Lofi guitar is juxtaposed by pointed and sometimes distorted synth lines, or by a quiet field recording played back from a cassette dictaphone with drum machines  occasionally calling through to punctuate the rhythms. It’s all a slow haze that swirls in the head late on a hot summer night.

This is one for the headphones – so pull out that walkman and the fuzzy Sony headphones and relax into the beanbag with your favourite chardonnay.
